I don't see the trail — what should I check?

Make sure MouseTrail is running (look for the trail icon in the menu bar), then move the mouse — the trail only appears while the pointer is moving. The classic rainbow trail, including its length and width, works for everyone with no purchase required.

How do I start MouseTrail automatically at login?

Toggle "Launch at Login" in the menu bar menu (or in Settings > General). It's on by default after the first launch.

Do I need to cancel MouseTrail Pro?

If you bought MouseTrail Pro as the one-time purchase, there's nothing to cancel — it's a single charge, not a recurring one. If you'd like a refund, that goes through Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you're on the older MouseTrail Pro subscription from before this change, it keeps renewing as usual and you can still manage or cancel it any time: open the App Store app > click your name > Account Settings > Subscriptions, or System Settings > Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Subscriptions.

I was already subscribed before this update — do I need to do anything?

No. Your subscription keeps working exactly as before, with no action needed on your part. You don't need to buy the new one-time Pro unlock, and you can still manage or cancel your subscription any time via Apple's subscription settings (see above).

I bought Pro on another Mac — how do I restore it?

Open Settings > Pro and click "Restore Purchases" while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. This works for both the one-time Pro purchase and a legacy subscription.

How do I back up or share my presets?

Settings > Trail > Export… saves your presets as a .mousetrailpack file anywhere you choose (including cloud drive folders). Use Import… on any Mac to bring them back; your presets also survive deleting and reinstalling the app automatically.
